When we think of the Seychelles we think palm fringed white sand beaches. We think romantic hideaways and luxury hotels. The Hilton Labriz is all of this and more. Nestled into the lush tropical jungle on a long white powder beach, this fantastic hotel is only accessible by boat and the only hotel on Silhouette island. This gives it a real 'island paradise feel'.
From the moment you step off the boat and are welcomed warmly by the hotel staff who whisk you up to this beautiful resort, you know you are in for something special. The setting is pure paradise. The lush jungle covered hillside flows down from the high peaks to the tropical gardens and white powder beach dotted with huge granite boulders. It has a bit of a Jurassic Park look about it.
Villas set into the hillside come with amazing views over the beach and ocean beyond. There are also villas surrounded by the lovely tropical gardens. Both available with plunge pools and a natural sound system coming from the surrounding jungle. Although personally, if you can afford to I would recommend a deluxe beach villa. These come with a decent sized pool right on the beach. You would have some hard decisions to make though - "do I enjoy my cocktail here by my own pool, or shall I stroll the ten metres or so and drink it on the beach?".
As you can imagine this is a fabulous hotel for honeymooners or people looking for a romantic break. The stunning location with its white sand beach where you can watch the sunrise over the ocean. The private island feel and the lovely pool villas, all make for an amazing romantic experience.
The hotels is not just for couples though. There is plenty going on for more active guests and also families. Nature is a big part of this resort. The interior of the island is completely undeveloped and most of it a national park. Plus the waters surrounding the island are a marine reserve. There are guided hikes and cycling through around the island and plenty of water sports including a 5star Padi scuba diving centre. There is also a kids club with plenty of activities for the kids. They even have special kids hikes into the jungle. If you are looking to take the kids somewhere amazing where they won't get bored this place will fit the bill.
The Seychelles is a premium destination and it isn't ever going to be a cheap place to visit. Although the Hilton is a lovely five star resort it does also offer great value compared to other Seychelles hotels.
There are direct flights from the UK. Plus now that they have opened their borders to tourists who return a negative test, we won't have to quarantine when we get there. This means the Seychelles could be a good choice for your next tropical holiday.
You will need to fly into Mahe which is the main international airport for the Seychelles. There are direct flights from Heathrow. Emirates and Turkish also offer great value flights with short stops en-route. You might want to add a stopover for a couple of nights and experience the amazing hotels and great shopping of Dubai or the Mosques and markets of Istanbul.
When you get to the Seychelles you will need to get a taxi or transfer to the Hilton ferry pier in Bel Ombre where the boats leave for the island. There are only three ferry crossings per day so make sure your flights link up. Don't worry if you have a wait at the ferry pier as there is a dedicated air-conditioned Hilton lounge with comfy seating, a bar, restaurant and play area.
